Systems Architect (Healthcare) (Permanent) Western Cape/Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Systems Architect (Healthcare) to design, integrate, implement, and maintain advanced medical diagnostic and imaging systems, along with networked software architectures, supporting critical healthcare operations. This role combines technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on system design in a dynamic corporate IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

• Design, develop, integrate, and implement systems to meet business requirements.

• Manage system maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation.

• Conduct testing to ensure compliance with functional and technical specifications.

• Provide leadership to the medical diagnostic systems team.

• Oversee administrative processes and deliver feedback for improvement.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science OR BTech in Information Technology.

Advantageous:

• PACS-related certifications.

Experience

Essential:

• 10–15 years of relevant IT experience in a dynamic corporate environment.

Advantageous:

• Experience with Microsoft Technologies.

• Experience with Radiology Technologies (RIS/PACS/VNA).

Skills & Knowledge

• Microsoft / InterSystems Technologies.

• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.

• Coding languages: C#, Web Technologies, SQL.

• Integration standards: HL7, FHIR, XML, JSON, HTTPS, APIs.

• PACS standards: DICOM, HL7, IHE, HTTPS.

• Project management methodologies (Agile).

• Gathering and documenting business requirements.

• Writing functional and technical specifications.

• Designing integrations to industry standards.

• Developing and testing software to meet functional needs.

• Managing program maintenance, updates, and security upgrades.
